It takes more than a decade for a tree to bloom in full. Then it helps prevent soil erosion and starts combating the greenhouse effect, cleaning the air, cooling the streets, conserving energy and many more. In-fact studies have shown that patients with views of trees out their windows heal faster. Trees can bring peace and unity. (Click Here to read the benefits of a tree)

But it takes just couple of hours to bring it down. And through this project (environmental photography), I would be sharing the man-created devastation and deforestation around the neighborhoods of India.

Recently a 50-60 years old tree was cut down in Koramangala, Bangalore, to accommodate the newly built power lines and buildings. This was the last big tree on that road. Every morning for more than three years I would wake up to the bird chirping and cool breeze provided by the tree. And from the second floor of my building the tree would provide a grandeur backdrop as it hides the ugly concrete jungle. I used this tree as backgrounds for three of my music videos. And as I helplessly watched the tree going down, I said goodbye and felt that I would be missing one of my oldest and dearest friends.
