Copied songs of Bollywood - music piracy?

There are hundreds of songs in Bollywood which are directly copied, adopted or inspired from other songs. Some of these songs saw huge success in the Bollywood film industry. What I don't understand is, where we have certain music directors who have been engaged in making their own music and mark, how can another bunch think of coping the tunes of some other songs and present as their own work? Well, below are few very famous Hindi film songs which got the popularity among Indian people, but actually were adopted or copied from works by other musicians and music directors. Crossroads, a classic-rock band from Bangalore, India played at a city hot-spot on Friday, December 27, 2013. The band covered songs from Metallica to Dire Straits. The evening was fun as we got to sit at the "Trader Vic's" and witnessed the entire concert sipping beverages. Below are few moments of the show. Aawaz wins Best Music Video Award at the Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival, 2013

Aawaz - speak up against sexual violence was made with an aim to sensitize people of various social evils such as sexual violence, child abuse and marital rape. The music video of the bilingual song won the Best International Music Video Award at the 'Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival 2013' held on 14 December 2013.
