Voodoo Child live at The Warehouse, Bangalore I have been a part of the Guwahati based band Voodoo Child since December, 2005. I left the band in September 2006 as I had to leave the city for good. I rejoined the band in May, 2014 after a long break of 8 years. Although initially I used to play the keyboard with the band, after rejoining I have taken up the role of the lead guitarist. Below are few of my moments with Voodoo Child at a pub (club) in Bangalore called The Warehouse. It was a special event on the occasion of Valentine's Day held on Saturday, February 14, 2015. Red Bull Flugtag, Bangalore, India (photo - Jim Ankan Deka) Not many in India have heard about Red Bull, let alone the famous Flugtag event. So, the event got king-size media attention when Red Bull first announced about it which was to be held in Bangalore. I was invited to the event by one of the organizers of the India's First Red Bull Flugtag. It was held at Sankey Tank, Bangalore - one of the last surviving lakes of Bangalore. I was little surprised with the decision of the Bangalore govt for giving permission for such an event to be conducted at a place like this. Anyway, curiosity took over and I with two of my colleagues from Music Malt thought of visiting the place and covering the event for International Press Association. It was total chaos! Crossroads, a classic-rock band from Bangalore, India played at a city hot-spot on Friday, December 27, 2013. The band covered songs from Metallica to Dire Straits. The evening was fun as we got to sit at the "Trader Vic's" and witnessed the entire concert sipping beverages. Below are few moments of the show. I had not much clue about an event like this in Bangalore until my friend Antara Baruah gave me a call and told me about it. Later as I was checking out, Asha Rao, founder of Sunday Soul Sante gave me a call and invited me for the event. There was food, music, beverages and for the females specially - a flea market. The Sunday Soul Sante 2013 had almost everything to offer. Apart from damosels in fine-looking garments appearing totally appealing and attractive, the event also witnessed live music by the band Solder and Avril Quadros with her band Hammer N Thong and a fashion show by Prasad Bidapa Associates . The spirit of spring came alive in Bangalore with Bohag Bihu celebrations organized by the Assam Association of Karnataka . The festive occasion amalgamated Assamese people from all corners of Bangalore adorning traditional attires to savor their traditional delicacies. The fête also had Bihu dances, Kanada folk dances, a fashion show displaying mekhela sador and musical performances - including some groovy solos by noted singer Sinchan Manohar Dixit. The Deep India Concert is a brief musical tour to promote the project 'Deep India', a collaboration between Deep Forest , the Grammy winning band from France and Indian santoor player Rahul Sharma . The event was on evening of December 13, 2012 at Vivanta by Taj, Bangalore. Deep Forest kicked off the evening with some unhurried dreamy tracks, with David Fall on the drums, Alune Wade on the bass, Olyza Zamati - the vocalist, and the master himself Eric Mouquet on the keys. Kryptos , formed in 1998 in Bangalore, is considered one of the leading heavy metal bands to emerge from India. The band was at Clarks Exotica for the Harley Rock Riders Season III on Nov 24, 2012. The event was organized by Harley-Davidson India. The season three also witnessed the famous names in the rock music scenario like Solder, Albatross, Frank Got The Funk, Galeej Gurus, Boomerang, Light Years, Soulmate and Wolf .
