Bangalore neighborhoods - part 1 (street photography)

Bangalore (Bengaluru) is not my birth place. Nor it's where I studied. I came here looking for a job in 2006. Since then, more I explored, though I didn't understand the language, I somehow managed to understand the city a bit. There are high-rise edifices with high living standards and low-rise shanties marked by poverty and inferior living conditions. I have been trying to capture the beauty, the happiness, griefs and brokenheartednesses of the metropolis. Bangalore through my eyes ! iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Spotify and other platforms for Indian musicians

Image
Many budding musicians and bands from India have been asking me a question for quite some time now - ' how to sell music on iTunes or Amazon or distribute music online? ' Till two years ago I thought it was a time consuming process. I never even bothered to try that myself. I was happy sharing my music through Reverbnation , SoundCloud or MySpace for free. Now, sharing your music with people for free is not a very bad idea if you want to get noticed. Once you have enough fans on Facebook and followers on Twitter , you should think about selling your music. If you are in the US or Europe, distributing or selling music online is not going to be a big deal. But if you are in India and not really sure about publishing your music on platforms like iTunes or OVI (Nokia Music), the number of times you bang your head on the wall will be more than the number of concerts you do. After much research (with food, beverage and sitting in front of laptop for days), I came to an unders

Pork, Naga pork and pork chops in Bangalore

Image
When I landed in Bangalore in 2006, the first thing I noticed was inaccessibility of restaurants or food joints serving pork items. I had always been a die hard fan of meat - specially pork. And it became more important for me to search for an eatery that has excellent 'pork' service than a job or a cot with roof. It took me almost six years before I could make a list of handful of eating joints where one can get an impressive menu of pork dishes. I got the taste of Naga pork (pork from Nagaland), Chinese pork, Thai pork (pork from Thailand), Italian pork and pork momos. Below are few joints where one can get hold of these. This is to help people who come mainly from North-East India to Bangalore in search of job. They would rather spend (waste) their time searching for work and a structure that provides privacy than pork.
